End of Year Report

 End of Year Report

P.O. Box 995, Houghton Lake, MI 48629

Artesia Youth Park, a 501c3, a non-profit has been supported by our community, for the whole community and has been in existence since 2005.  This year has marked the near completion of 8 of our  9 goals in our original business plan.   Project 8 will be the mortgage burning which we hope to do yet in 2016!!

Because of the new Gym roof that the community contributed to completion, our utility bills were cut in half!! THANK YOU!   Fundraisers like the 2 summer garage sales, the pig roast, Pickleball Team and the $52 Club and the $100 Year Club members have helped to keep the doors open and the heat on.

We have raised some of our much needed finances through the 52 Club. We have around 15 people who are faithful 52 club members, many are already “5 year-Nuts” on the tree in the foyer. Several faithful people have become $100 year members and have their names displayed on the trunk of the tree.  This year we are adding all the businesses that sponsored the golf outing to our wall.  We hope we run out of room.

The average kid attendance has been over 30 students every Saturday.  Some bring their parents as well.  We have hosted two days of self-esteem programs for middle school girls and boys, hosted Enrichment Days and Bobcat Reward Days as a popular destination place.  Kids want to come to Artesia. The more resources a student has to support them, the healthier decisions they can make.  Artesia is one of those important supports.

When asked what some students would be doing if they did not have Artesia they responded with, “I would be doing some bad things, probably.” This year we have experienced some volunteer shortages and we love our volunteers!!  We also are excited about our program partner, the Houghton Lake Sportsman Club and the local CenterShot Archery Club!

Would you consider supporting us again this year?

Send anything you can to the above address, or call, 989-787-0550.

Thank you for taking time to support Artesia!  ALL or kids and staff also thank you!!

JoJean Thompson, Artesia President
